Description
The Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, located in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, is a world-renowned conservation and research center dedicated to protecting and breeding giant pandas. Known as the “panda capital of the world,” it provides a natural habitat for these rare animals, with bamboo forests, lakes, and lush vegetation.
Visitors can observe giant pandas of all ages, from playful cubs in the nursery to adult pandas in open enclosures, as well as the smaller and equally charming red pandas. The base also features educational exhibits about panda conservation, breeding programs, and efforts to protect endangered wildlife.
With well-designed walking paths, bamboo groves, and observation areas, the center offers an immersive experience where travelers can learn about panda ecology while enjoying close-up encounters with China’s national treasure. Morning visits are especially recommended, as pandas are most active during feeding times.
